Our Programs

At the Namanya Memorial Community Library, we’re committed to providing resources and programs that meet the needs of our community. From books to technology, our services are designed to inspire learning, spark curiosity, and empower individuals of all ages. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

Computer Literacy

It’s no news that computer literacy is essential in the world we live intoday.  Namanya Memorial Community Library (NMCL) has launched a Computer Literacy Program to equip our community with the skills needed for the digital age.

This program is designed for individuals of all ages; Students researching school projects, Young adults preparing for the job market, Older community members learning basic computer skills.

Through hands-on training, participants gain confidence in navigating online platforms, accessing educational resources, and exploring new opportunities.

Literacy Champions

The Literacy Champions Program is a transformative initiative designed to inspire a love for reading and build essential skills in young learners.

In partnership with the Read to Learn Foundation, this program empowers older children and young adults to become mentors and literacy advocates for younger peers, fostering a culture of learning and leadership in the community.

The program focuses on Peer MentoringSkill Development  and Community Impact

Through the Literacy Champions Program, we’re not just teaching literacy—we’re building a brighter future, one child at a time.

Child Sponsorships

our Child Sponsorship Program ensures that bright, talented children can stay in school, even when their families face financial hardships.

Many of these children excel academically but risk dropping out due to unaffordable school fees, uniforms, and supplies.

Your sponsorship provides the support they need to continue their education, empowering them to achieve their dreams and break the cycle of poverty. With your committed partnership, you can transform a child’s future—because every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.

Join us in keeping dreams alive.

Community Outreach

At Namanya Memorial Community Library (NMCL), we believe education should reach everyone, no matter where they are. Through Literacy on Wheels, our volunteers bring books and reading sessions to Nansana communities and schools across Uganda, inspiring a love for learning in children who might otherwise be left behind.

We’re also eager to partner with nonprofits and schools in Nansana, Wakiso, Kampala to expand our outreach and create lasting impact.

Together, we can make education accessible and transformative for all in Uganda.

Legacy Libraries

Namanya Memorial Community Library’s Legacy Libraries initiative allows families to honor departed loved ones by establishing community libraries in their names. These libraries provide books, resources, and programs to underserved areas across Uganda, fostering a culture of reading and learning.

Each library is a lasting tribute, empowering communities and keeping the love for knowledge alive. Dedicate a library, donate books, or spread the word to help us create a legacy of literacy that transforms lives.

Training Center

We’re building the Namanya Memorial Training Center—a hub of opportunity for the youth in Nansana and beyond. This center will offer practical training programs designed to equip participants with essential skills for the modern workforce. By focusing on hands-on learning and real-world applications, we will prepare students to secure employment, start their own businesses, and achieve economic independence.

Graduates will leave with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to transform their lives and uplift their communities. But we need your help to finish the construction and make this vision a reality.
