The Namanya Memorial Community Library was founded in memory of Hilary and Barbra Namanya, two educators who believed in the power of learning.
Located in Nansana, Wakiso Uganda, our library provides free access to books, technology, and educational programs for children, schools, families and Non-Profits across the Country
Our library provides a safe, welcoming space where children, students, and adults can explore a wide range of educational and recreational materials. By offering access to books, we empower individuals to dream, learn, and grow, building a brighter future for the entire community.
We aspire to develop a literate, informed, engaged and connected community through free access of quality information.
To enrich lives and our community through universal access to knowledge, lifelong learning and literacy.
Unlike many schools in Uganda, we have a wide variety of books on Uganda’s Education Syllabus allowing students to catch up with their class work, do their school research, and read ahead with free access to all our books and resources.
Our services are designed to meet the specific needs of our community, ensuring no one is left behind.
At the heart of the Namanya Memorial Community Library (NMCL) is a passionate and dedicated team committed to fostering literacy and empowering communities through education. Our team believes that every book opened is a door to a new world, and together, we work tirelessly to ensure that these doors remain open for everyone in our community.

"As a parent, it has always been difficult to find educational resources for my children. Since the Namanya Memorial Library opened, I’ve seen a huge change in my daughter. She’s more eager to learn and spends her free time reading after her chores. I’m so grateful to the library for giving our children this opportunity."
— Mother of 3
"The Namanya Memorial Community Library has become a cornerstone of our village. It provides not just books, but hope for a better future. Our children now have access to knowledge that was once out of reach, and the entire community benefits from the inspiration and motivation it brings."
